A couple reviews of a couple things I’ve seen/heard lately:

1. Kanye West – 808s and Heartbreaks:
I was pretty skeptical of the poppier sound before I actually heard the album, but I’ve been listening non-stop for a few days now. I’m not sure yet if it rises to Graduation-esque heights, but I really, really liked that record. This one is more somber, but still really interesting. Highlights: “See You in My Nightmares,” “Street Lights,” and especially “Coldest Winter.”

2. Four Christmases
There are a couple moments in the movie that are truly funny, but I think I may have wasted my $7.50. The emotional aspect was kind of weird and forced, and Vince Vaughn is (even more now) someone that I don’t particularly enjoy watching.

3. Slumdog Millionaire
I liked it a lot. The game show format is kind of strange for this type of movie, but it works. Side note: A bunch of things I’ve read talk about how accessible it makes modern India to the average American, but is the average American going to see this film? At any rate, good acting and an interesting plot.

There are probably more things to talk about, but I’m drawing a blank. Maybe later.
