last few days
Hi Blagosphere. Tough week! Catching up on some interesting things:
- I’ve started sharing a lot of stuff through Google reader. Think of it as part 2 of this blog. Anyway, the feed is available if you want to keep up with it. It also has RSS.
- Krauthammer says we should promise Iran annihilation if it attacks Israel with nukes.
- Maybe everyone is a racist. I was slower for whites, but not by THAT much.
- Can anyone make this website work? I don’t really remember what it was, but I found it somewhere and was interested enough to save it until it did work. I hope it’s fun.
- Funny piece about what young people think old people think. I like part III.
That’s it! Watch some hockey tonight!

1. Iraq War Authorization Expires 1/1/09? The gist is that the UN resolutions that the Congressional authorization now depends on expire on 1/1/09, and the administration has no intention of going back to Congress. Sounds reasonable from a legal standpoint, but I am doubtful that it will matter in practical terms.
2. A kind of smirking NYT column about how white males are the new focus of the Democratic primary, and all of their various flaws. I guess they’re just not in vogue like minorities.
3. I don’t know if anyone actually downloads font sets these days, but here’s a pretty cool list of “grunge fonts.” I see some winners in there – or I would if I did anything that required different fonts.
4. A visual walkthrough of the final stages of preparing the space shuttles for lift off.
5. With a win tonight, Washington locks up the third Eastern conference playoff spot. Let’s go Caps!

the customer isn’t always right
“Let me get this straight: The company will side with petulant, unreasonable, angry, demanding customers instead of with me, its loyal employee? And this is meant to lead to better customer service?” (positivesharing.com)
The article argues that attempting to satisfy unreasonable customers all of the time leads to unnecessary drains on both the firm and other customers. I can buy that.
